What is this country coming to...

when a Christian leader, such as Pat Robertson (whom many consider to be an extremist, anyway), calls for the assassination of a world leader?

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/23/rob...vez/index.html

This guy gives the right a very bad name.

(no offense to the Christians on this board but I just can't believe someone who founded the Christian Coallition would actually call for murder on economic grounds)

Shouldn't Christians be preaching love and not murder? That's what I thought Christ would do and, as a Christian (someone who follows the teachings of Christ and strives to live as he did), he should do as well.

BTW, what ever happened to live and let live, turn the other cheek?

Moved to "Political" Forum, because this is a nutjob "Christian" leader that's trying to dabble in politics....

Please note that this is not the view of most christians, this is the warped views of a single nutjob that is extremely off base.

I'm not surprised if this is the end of his career.....

Wow, didn't even know we had a political forum, LOL.

I agree, and I also hope this is the end of his career. We don't need people calling for elected leaders of foreign, sovereign nations to be executed, PERIOD. All countries have a duty to change their officials if they don't like them. If China called for the killing of Bush everyone would be up in arms.

Its not what they are going to be saying about Pat... they have enough to piss about as is it w/o Robertson running his fat one..

.. I am talking about how the world does not seperate people (ie. Pat) when they think of a country.. when he speaks like that, he is not speaking for himself, he speaks for the whole country.... thats how others (not in the USA) will percive this.

And 'take him out' can be a number of things, including kidnapping; there are a number of ways to take out a dictator from power besides killing him. The controversy began Monday when Robertson called Chavez "a terrific danger" bent on exporting Communism and Islamic extremism across the Americas.

Now that he realizes he made a huge mistake, this turd of an American is trying to back-pedal on his remarks.... I smell a gigantic load of

while I would be the first to agree this dude is WAAAAY whack-o I would have to kind of disagree that he is completely backpeddling. He did use the term "take him out" which I think is reasonable to assume that he meant kill. However the AP (associated press) does CONSTANTLY take things way out of context and insert a lot of biased assumptions into stories. It's no secret they already dislike Pat Robertson. Because of that I have to give Pat the a LITTLE benefit of the doubt that he could have meant something besides killing the guy.....

I don't know why he is seen as a very serious threat or anything... He's the annoying guy on the tv!

I mean another person on the other hand actually has armies to command that will do anything for their leader/country...
