Question About fuel efficency

Hi, I'm quite new to this forum but i have been looking around the forum for while. I would just like to know some info on civic's gas efficiency. I'm looking into getting a civic 96-2002 but i was wondering what base model should i be looking into for a gas efficient car. So far i have read the hx is really gas efficient but hard to find. What are some of your guys opinion? Any thing will really help To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Question About fuel efficency

all civics have good gas mileage if maintained well . but yes the HX and CX are the best civic model on gas. they are pretty weak though so i dont think you can get much fun out of it...

Re: Question About fuel efficency

The EX-line of the 01-05 Civics has VTEC-e, which means at low RPMs and partial throttle only one intake valve opens completely and the other barely cracks. This little trick allows for a slightly leaner A/F ratio, resulting in better mileage.

Re: Question About fuel efficency

HX sits right between the LX and the EX with respect to power ratings, and is lighter/no features like A/C to "drag" you down.

theoretically, should outperform the DX and LX.
