Re: sounds on 2000rpm/2500rpm

I have the same sound, only started after I upgraded my exhaust.

EDIT- forgot to say that it happens usually when i'm entering traffic and my engine hasnt warmed up yet- usually in the first mile or so, but only when accelerating. Sounds like some nitrous turbo kind of sound to me

Re: sounds on 2000rpm/2500rpm

What was the part number for the heat shield? I lower my car at one point in time. It makes metal on metal sound, almost a sputter sound when accelerating from 2000-3000 rpm.

Re: sounds on 2000rpm/2500rpm

I have the same thing noise. except my "buzzing" happens every time i accelerate. i took it in to Honda when I still had a warranty and they speculated that it could be rocks on the heat shield rattling around when significant vibration occurs or something like that.

So I took my sister-in-law's civic for a spin to compare noises (05 ex sedan, same as mine, from the same factory: denver, about a month apart). it turns out her civic sounds the same as mine: buzzing upon acceleration...

I still complain that it sounds like some kind of pressure leak, which is accompanied by a brief "ring twirling/winding down" sound upon high rpm up-shift.

EDIT...and it's they both are autos.
