I have a sort of serious problem. I went to the gas station to fill up my gas cause it was at little less then half. But when i went to go open the gas tank door it didn't work. At first i thought it was frozen, so i took it home and left it in the garage i tried hot water, de-icing spary, but neither worked.
What do i do? I need gas!

your spring might have broke off like on my mom's camry. push and hold on to the fuel door release lever and have a second person try to pry open the door with a flat head screw driver. If that doesnt work, then it could be the cable or solenoid like what others are saying.
Do a search for the fuel door fix thread. A company is selling a fix if the cable breaks near the opening lever. (drivers side)
The door can be opened from the trunk but be careful not to break anything in the process. ( I hear it easy to break the release plunger)
Yeah it is a seventh gen and i think this is probably what happened.

I tried out this method and didn't work - i managed to open up the gas door from the trunk and the plug there doesn't work when the lever is pushed down. How do i know that the problem is the cable (the plastic clip) and not the solenoid (what is the solenoid? lol)
Did you find the link to the kit ?? It has a video that explains installation procedure for the kit. Once you remove the door sill cover... if the break was there it should be in plain site.
Release plunger may be a better term. The part near the door that moves in to release door. Solenoids operate by electric.
Yeah i checked out the video - i'll open up the sills and covers and check it out.
Right now i only manually opened the fuel door, it got too cold to stay outside so i didn't put the pin back. I just wedged a peice of card board between the fuel door and car body - it'll do for now, until it gets a litter better outside.
Hey i just wanted to follow up. I fixed the fuel door a CHEAP way, lol. Instead of buying that clip on piece from the website (Great idea - but to expensive for something like that) i used plastic tie wraps to fasten the two pieces together - works great now.

Thanks,
Nice, so I assume that it was the part that was by the release lever that broke.
But its hard to see how the ziptie would work.
