I think it is, I get them @ Wal-Mart for like 4bux.
I guess, then where ever you get them cheapest. My dealer has the OEM ones for $5, but if you buy 2, you get one free, so it ends up being $10 for 3, which isn't a bad deal. If I had to pay $5 for each, I probably would go to something like that.
so whats soo different from Fram you buy from walmart and the honda filter that fram makes then ?
The number of pletes. Basically it has about twice the filter media.... let see if I can find the cut away pics I used to have.

Good filter However, I think it is a little over kill for a civic, same with synthetic oil. But if you don't mind dropping the money, it won't hurt.

Here we go, one picture is of a normal Fram you buy at Wal-Mart, note the Honda filter that is next to it is an S2000 filter, they are completely differet than a Honda filter. The second picture is of a OEM Honda filter, like the one you use on a civic.
Now look at the second picture and the orangeFram filter in the first pic, see the difference?

go on bobtheoilguy websites..bitog.com..it is for ppl that are insane about oil read some of the fram reviews, those filter are some of the worse....oem filter are good not the greatest....some cars esp turbo'ed car have been ruined by the use of non oem filters because companies like fram omit or use a lower quality anti drainback valve i know it wasnt you but whoever said i think fram makes honda oem filters is an idiot why even say that...show some proof...shoot i think chevy makes honda filters get the point...
well, i figure it's done only ever 2 and a half to 3 months or every 2,500 or 3000 miles. i don't mind buying the expensive stuff. i guess i'd like the best stuff for my car. mobil synthetic oil and a mobil oil filter are a good combo for a car. like i said before, mobil is a damn good brand.
i'm overkill when it comes to my car cause i use mobil fully super synthetic oil 5 w 20 with a mobil oil filter with synthetic cleaning fibers inside for fully synthetic oil and even mobil 93 octane premium gasoline. LOL. yeah, i'd say thats overkill. none of these premium things are really needed but are a damn good thing for your civic. key word. "damn good". yeah so it's not needed but still it's a "DAMN GOOD" thing to give your honda civic or car period!

HONDA PRIDE!!!...
it's not overkill with the premium gas, it's just you're not doing anything good for the car period. car is meant to run on 87 pump, you're causing it to work harder to compress and burn the higher octane gas, thus dropping your mpg....i think thats how the mpg drop if i remember correctly.
