Re: poll: what oil filter do you use?

I've used the following:

Honda OEM (Made by FRAM)

Quaker State by Sopus

FRAM (Orange one)

They're are all pretty cheap filters. Honda's OEM is a FRAM but cost more than the orange FRAM.

I use Fram TG I like the media inside, if not Fram TG then Hamp. I use Valvoline Semi-Synthetic 5w30 for now. When I swap or turbo I will flush the system and switch to Eneos 0w-30. Best oil out there pricey but the best.

Re: poll: what oil filter do you use?

If you cut open a FRAM the insides are held together with a cardboard frame that gets broken down by the hot oil.
I use purolator pure 1, they are all metal, have a better capacity for contaminants due to more filter media, and low oil pressure increase. everything you want in a good oil filter. oh, and the valve that stops the contaminants from falling back into your oil pan when engine shut off, also made of metal with a better seal than alot of the competition.
also, highly recommend Esso XD-3 oil. it's a class 4 synthetic available for the price of most class 3's. Very good stuff for all conditions. I have used in 97tercel, 91civic, 90silvia, everything from high mileage to high HP.

Re: poll: what oil filter do you use?

Yup^
reason i use Wix, diaphragm is crap on FRAM filters!!
if you open up a WIX youll notice the way its put together kills the FRAM.

I trust and use WIX and will continue to do so, same with using RP for my choice in oil.

Re: poll: what oil filter do you use?

Honda OEM

Honda has been running commercials in my area with a catchy slogan:

"If it isn't a genuine Honda part, it shouldn't be part of your Honda"

I guess advertising works
