motor sitting for months?

alright guys ... say you had a motor sitting for months ... and it took a couple minutes of cranking to get it to start ... what would you do? ... I mean, what products would you add?

I'm sure there is shit gunked up all over the place ... most of it probably burned off, but I'm sure the valves are caked with carbon and other nice things.
