i woke up this morning, turned on the car, it started to make a slight rumble like the car was about to idle out and than the check engine light started to blink 3 times and than it stayed on. is this a probem with the air flow because i took out the air box a while ago. if theres anye xperts out there i'd really appreciate some input..thanks To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

go to auto zone or someplace like that and use their machine to pull the code for the Check Engine Light. there's a million things it could be.

dont you already have another thread about this, no need for 2.

But anyway, first things first, check your air filter. I bet you it is clogged to shit. A guy at my school, his girl has a 01 civic and they took the intake off and just left the filter box and when he pulled the filter, it was clogged with dirt. After he replaced it, the car ran better.

But also like I said before, is it a check engine light or maintanence required light? Is the light a little engine light? Or is is a light that says maintanence required? Because if it blinked 3 times and then stayed on, sounds like the maintenence required light. I have never really seen a check engine light do that.
