Fuel additive FAQ's

What should a fuel system cleaner do? Clean fuel system of course! Seriously they should gently remove gum, carbon, and varnish in your fuel system and do it safely by dissolving the carbon not just breaking it off into chuncks that will harm your engine. Lubricate fuel system parts.

What to stay away from: One shot cleaners as they are too strong and can damage an engine and are mostly kersosene.

Why are their injector cleaners, fuel system treatments, and fuel system cleaners? Marketing! A good fuel system cleaner should do everything.

Don't fuels already have enough additive packs in them?
Not even close. Read the article posted here http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=203079.

Should fuel system cleaners be used evey 3000 miles or so? Not at all. Use a good gentle cleaner continuously and keep build up from occuring. Why let crud build up in the first place?
