you got ripped the *** off. no joke but you payed $600 for a $30 oil change, rotate tires, check the brakes (proably dont even remove any wheels), check parking brake (if its tight when they pull it, they wont adjust it), inspect steering components (takes 5 seconds, if even at all done), check everything under the car (again takes a few seconds), check and adjust drive belts (99% says they looked and said they are ok), replace you ac filter $30, and maybe replace your brake fluid.

You paid $600 for an inspection and parts that were not even $80. you could have done that yourself.

For $600 you could have had 8-10 hours of work done at alot of places, and most stealerships hire techs straight out of school with no practical experience, and they give the simple jobs like that to them.

For matenance I'd do most your self and then take it to a Jiffy Lube or similar place get a tranny flush, a fuel system clean, if you like spending money get every service they offer and it still will only top out at $150 with full sythetic oil.

wow, amazing. i can understand wanting dealer to do it (even tho their techs arent even all that), but if you did those few things separately, there is no way it would cost that much. at 60k i will assume they did everything, oil change $26, tranny fluid $50 brake fluid and check $50 maybe, replace filters $40 and even coolant for $50. i doubt they even did all that! what did they do for 600! seriously i cant figure it out. this is more than what they charged to put a new cylinder head on mine.

i guess i learnt the hard way - they say my next "big" one is at 90k. i prolly wont be doing it at the dealership. but yeah y'all are true - most of the stuff says check this and check that - replace "if necessary"

oh well - thanks for the input guys.

Go back and demand they show you exactly what your $600 got you. Did they give you a new clutch and brakes, cause if not, you've been fuct. I'd really like to know what's on the invoice, too. My 30k service was like $80, but i didn't have them do brakes or air filter. I have an intake, and I can handle pads and rotors myself. I think the $80 got me new "dust and pollen filters" (which did look pretty dirty), an oil change, and a bunch of "checks" of various belts, etc.

Well if it makes you feel any better, alot of people have spent over $600 on their vics to make um louder and not any faster .......so its a leson learned but not the end of the world.

Re: 60,000 mile service

Surprised the rears wore out quicker than the fronts but the 06 have disc brakes so I don't know.
