well in this case hes talking about different beams from one side compared to the other which is due more from bad bulb design. glare will always be there but thats the light above the beam and not the beam itself.

there is a bolt you need to turn on the back of the projector part. but you have to take the light off the car to be able to turn it otherwise theres no room.

Re: DIY:01-03 Headlight Aim Adjustment 56K WARNING

well you turn the silver bolt behind the projector. you gotta try one way first and figure out if it raises or lowers it. obviously you have to install it back on the car each time to see what happened. once you figure out which way youre moving the beam, then aim both so that at 25 ft, the lower cutoff of each side is 2 inches lower than the height of the projectors from the ground. so basically a 2 inch drop from horizontal at 25 ft.

Re: DIY:01-03 Headlight Aim Adjustment 56K WARNING

Great DIY.

I have a Honda civic 2001 1.6 executive hatchback and I can't find the up/down adjust gear. (The L/R easy). Any suggestions / photos? The Haynes manual is not helping with this!

Thanks,

Sam

Re: DIY:01-03 Headlight Aim Adjustment 56K WARNING

what country is that from? usually the up/down is somewhere easily accessible. check to see if you have any holes in the metal frame above the headlamp. like big enough to stick a screwdriver into and turn the adjustment.

It's from the UK.

I see the hole in the metal frame with U/D next to it, but it doesn't seem to lead to an adjust gear. Have looked at the bloody thing for hours!

Re: DIY:01-03 Headlight Aim Adjustment 56K WARNING

it should be there, here is a pic of the rear with arrow pointing to up/down. the plastic covered gear is for left/right and shouldnt be adjusted unless the car was in an accident or something and you need to reaim that part.

Very late, but the original post no longer displays the images.
Is there another post as detailed as this but with images?

Your owner's manual should tell you how, you can download for free from Honda if you don't have it. Or search YouTube
