Try using this. It is $2 spring that I bought at Lowes. It came in a pack of 2. I just removed the center console and placed the spring over the shifter. I am using a leather wrapped short shift knob and the spring pushes the stock boot and ring right up to the knob. Take a look at the after shot in my gallery.

Toaster is on a distinguished road
I tried to email hondawerx with no reply and filled out the order form with the part number no reply yet. I am wondering if my email filtered out the responses. Any ideas?

Update: Received my Skunk2 shifter knob today. Just pulled the boot up and engaged it with the nut below the knob. Seems to hold pretty good. I might not even need the clip. Anyone else tried this?

Here's a novel one... buy and RSX shift knob... it's lighter... matches the trim pieces on our inside door panels... and it has the OEM clips to hold it up all day long.... lol... I love my RSX-S knob....

Something else you can do that you can do with the skunk knob is buy a JDM shift boot (black with red stiching). Once you do that you can mod the shift boot to fit in the aluminum colored ring and bore out the inside of the plastic ring at the top to make it work correctly. This skunk knob comes with a threaded nut that holds the boot top up and I think it will come out looking clean....All I have to confirm is that I can restaple the shift boot to that aluminum-colored ring and then I will install everything. I can take pics and write up a DIY if there is interest.
