You could also contact a Acura dealer and ask for a shift boot adapter kit for an RSX. It will work just fine on the civic and should cost about $10.

If you are replacing the stock shift knob, then yes. If you have the premium shift knob, the you shouldn't, but it depends if they installed it right. On my Type S, the just put the premium knob on it and didn't put the adapter kit. So I had to buy it.
