Rep Power: 257 DIY caliper painting
This diy is for you lazy bums that dont wanna take off your caliper to paint it.
Tools needed:
Wire brush
Flat head screw driver
News Paper and tape
500' engine enamal
rattle can primer
and all the tools in here (just kidding)
this part is key, make sure you really get the calipers clean and no rust on them at all.
Tape off the caliper really well so that no paint gets on the rotors
Tuck the newspaper under the caliper really well to prevent any spray from getting on the rotors.
Prime the caliper, dont worry if the first coat dosnet look thick, you going to want to do about 2-3 thin coats of primer.
Put on about 4 coats of the engine paint or keep applying untill you get the shade your looking for.
Nice and clean

Rep Power: 257 I would say like a gunmetal color or red if you like flashy stuff. I try to keep my car clean and not flashy what so ever. I dont like things that stand out.

Rep Power: 270 Hey, nice DIY Josh. I was wondering on this job too. My car's color is Satin Silver. Do you guys think RED calipers would look nice or would they stand out too much? I was thinking black, but not sure...

Re: DIY caliper painting
Haha, I did this and I didn't even see this thread. I did the calipers and the drums. They look hella good. When I get better rims then stock you will actually be able to see the work. Did my girlfriends moms car too, she got a metallic blue neon with pretty open rims. She had me paint hers to match the car. Looks good, just not as good as mine.
