How to stop corrosion on the Battery

Recently I installed a subwoofer and the extra draw on power has been causing corrosion on the positive terminal. I have soaked the wires in baking soda water lubed them up real nice like with some vaseline and the coated them with hair spray in order to prevent future corrosion. This did not work and it's still building up. I have been told that corrosion could lead to other issues anyone have any other suggestions for me?

looks like Vaseline should do the trick. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums...Number=2555202

Maybe try a bigger glob of it on the terminal.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: How to stop corrosion on the Battery

The usual origin of the terminal corrosion (white/green/blue growies) is battery acid.

A poor seal between the battery post and the plastic battery case allows acid to seep (leak) upward.

If corrosion keeps returning after cleaning and applying Vaseline and those felt washers, you might be looking at replacing the battery.

Cool looks like I might need a new battery cuz the battery does corrode a lot I've cleaned it a few times. It got so bad once the car refused to start until after I cleaned the wires and terminals.
