UPS Shipping Caused Damage To My Package, Need Advice

Hi,
I sent it to Sacramento from San Diego, it was a laptop packaged VERY carefully. I sent it out in PERFECT working condition. Now the buyer is telling me it's having all sorts of weird problems that I have never heard of or experienced myself while having the laptop in my possession.

I think UPS either beat the heck out of it, or left it in the sun while the recipient was at work.

I delcared a 300$ value, and bought insurace.

Do I stand a chance with this claim?
Anyone ever go through this process?

yeah put the claim thru. but unfortunately, ups likes to deny claims if they didnt package it themselves. ups is a very violent shipping company, ive had boxes come that looked like 5 people sat on it. i try and avoid using them as much as possible and just go with usps. the priority service is actually not bad and they dont play basketball with your box.

Right on Mr Gearbox. Well my goal is to not have to send the buyer a FULL refund and have myself end up with a broken laptop. I sent it in perfect working condition. Yea that would definitely be bad, I mean why did I pay 5$ to insure it?

Have you seen the first 5 minutes of Ace Venture: Pet Detective? That's UPS. Put the claim through and keep escalating it until it gets resolved. If they don't want to honour it, ask them why they offer insurance on packages they didn't pack if they're not going to honour the insurance. Their reply will probably be, "Um......well.....we have it so that........see......." Ya, it doesn't really make sense to take your money for insurance if they're not going to pay out.

It's like a car insurance company saying, "You welded 2 halves of a car together? Sure, we'll insure you!" Then you do a claim and they say, "Oh, we're not going to pay out, you welded 2 halves of a car together!"

Ya thats what I'm thinking too. It's kind of funny because right now I am trying to put my claim through.

I do not have a UPS Account
I have tried to create one
They will not process my information right now, or I need to enter in a different credit card.
I do not have another credit card
It's very frustrating.
