idk man i live in canada and they really dont give a shit here. as long as u dont have more than i think its 3oz you're fine. so many people do it cops dont even care. As for stash spots. if you wanna be real sneaky unzip the seat cover and stash it in there. other good spots are under ebrake cover, or on top of the plastic piece on passenger or drivers side under the dash. just kinda pop out those panels and set it on there and put the panels back on and you're good to go.

I don't smoke, but there was a fantastic "stash" spot in my E46 3-series. If you lifted up the cupholders, there was a bunch of room under there. I've hidden a lot of things under there - mainly cash when traveling.
Also, regarding dogs, it usually doesn't come to that. If a cop asks to search your car, all you say is, "I do not consent to any search of my vehicle." Cops asking to search your car in a routine traffic stop is BS. They're praying they find something else to bust you on. Never consent to ANY search of your vehicle. If the officer wants to push the issue, he can obtain a search warrant. Anybody who wants to trick me into giving up my rights can fuck themself.
