I'm employed but it's consulting so I still need to get put on a project with a client. So I got a few questions regarding resumes for the southern consulting industry for you veteran IT people.
- I was told it should be 4-5 pages, the longer the better. I find this hard to believe as I'm used to restricting it to 2-3 pages max. Confirm?
- I was told I should have a full page of my technical/professional skills on the first page (cover letter not needed). A full page? Confirm?
The company is helping me with the resume and presenting it to their clients so it's a less formal delivery with no cover letter. But since it's the consulting industry, I was told the resume should resemble the items listed above. Anyone else consulting? It's basically DBA type stuff.
