He's right - there's no set time. I think it was 3 days with my last g/f.
first gf- went on one date with her and she told all her friends i was her new bf. lol. we talked about it a little. id say a week i guess.
second gf- dated for 2 months till she asked me to be her bf. it all depends on the both of you.
there really shouldnt be a "talk" i mean its more like
"wanna be my gf?" "sure" "muaw" "k"

I didnt know that we were officially going out until the end of the first week of seeing each other, when she introduced me to someone as her boyfreind. I didnt ask questions, didnt mind. Dated for 2.5 years and are now engaged.

yeah, i'd say after a short amount of time you can usually tell if you are a couple or not. Though eventually u will need to talk about it to make sure ur both on the same page

Umm. . all of my relationships (not that I'm good at making them work) we 'dated' for a few weeks and then we had /the talk/.

personally it's varied for me...i was taught a serious lesson by the last boy tho lol. i thought it was "understood" but there hadn't been any serious talk about our "couple-ness" but then i found out that his ex still had a nasty habit of sleeping over. ha. ah well he was crazy and shaved his legs so all's right in the world.
