^Hehe funny...
Actually, it started out great, it was our 6 month annerversary, she had no idea I was going to propose. We went to the Botanical Gardens in Ft Worth, & the Japanese Gardens, stayed for a while, it was drizzling & everything was absolutley perfect. It was the best scenery I have ever seen, it was straight out of the Last Samouri & Crouching Tiger Hidden dragon.
Then we went home & changed for the night, I got her some nice flowers, wrote a corny message in the card, & we were off. I told her I was taking her to this real fancy restarunt for our anerversary, then I told her it was all booked up & said, hmmm...lets go to Terillies, a real nice jazz restaurant with a live jazz band, this is were we went for out first date(planned of course). I tried to stall & wait till it got dark, but it was still freaking bright as hell outside(not romantic). Then to add to that, the place was freaking packed, I have never seen it this packed before, & the people were all yelling so loud, it sounded like a freaking middle school cafeteria!! Well I was getting pissed, it was taking so long to get us seated, we ended up waiting almose 2 hours for a table, but it was THE place, so I was prepared to wait all night. I was praying all along that these people would leave, it was annoying, no way I could propose like this. I was thinking about backup plans, then they told up they had a place outside. We get there & its all the way in the corner, all cozy, I just started to drown out everyone else & it started to get really romantic, it was still drizzling & it was dark*finally*.
Anyway, we started talking about how we first got together & how nice our first date was, how nervous we were & everything. Then I started telling her how much I loved her, & I wanted to marry her, she was like... do ya now ...kinda jokingly sarcastic, I was like... yes, in fact... then I dropped a knee & asked her to marry me. She was soo excited, she didnt know what to do, she just grabbed me & started crying & saying YES...OF COURSE...YES!! It was awesome, I was so nervous I started to put the ring on the wrong finger, that was funny
Everybody was clapping & saying congradulations, then we left & went back to her place & opened the bottle of wine my friend brewed himself, we were saving it for a special occasion. Then we made a couple of martinis & talked for a while about how special the night was, we both were crying, we were so happy.
**Ok now for some history**
We had only been
officially going out for 6 months, but we have known each other for almost 10 years, back in the day we were really good friends, & in the last year we had grown to be absolute best friends.
I had bought her ring a little over a month ago, she fell in love with it, but I told her I didnt really like it too much, but went back & bought it, but I had them put a bigger diamond on it to make it special. Then that whole month, I kept insisting we look at rings, & I acted all confused & sad saying I didnt know what to buy & that most of them sucked, she was getting soo freaking impatient, it was hard to keep from laughing. Needless to say she was pleasantly surprised.
Right now I am so happy, I am going to marry my best friend, this is so awesome, & i've honestly never seen her so happy, its hard to keep from crying when I think about it. I thank God evry day for blessing me with someone so special.
We're going to wait & get married next spring, hopefully in the Japanese Gardens
Well thanks for the good luck guys I appreciate it.
