Okay- So ill be a freshmen in college next year, and just found out my roommate, So we email back and forth like once or twice- mentioned I was into cars- says he was into classic cars (proceeds to tell me how his Volvo with have "vintage" status in a couple years, note its a 93 Volvo 240....)
So I call him up and he sounds like a total flamer, I honestly thought I accidently dialed Michael Jackson's number (same soft, feminine voice)
I know a roomate is just someone you live with and not supposed to be your best friend or anything- but ya know.
I am not sure what to do...Its just weird for me...Any advice?

that happened to me when i went to school.....i talked to my roomate over the summer and he sounded like a flamer too, and he was a band geek.
Turns out he was pretty cool and we had some things in common and got along really well. He was a band geek though and we really didn't hang out outside of the dorm, but we did chill alot.

i say,..get over it. You go to college to experience new things, to open up your mind. If things get worse, like he steals from you or something, then complain. but now...i say just have an open mind, and learn from him....
My first roomate in the dorms was a crazy guy. Kept to himself, had duct tape around his door and blankets over the windows. Then he started leaving me scary notes at night saying LIGHTS OFF! Needless to say, I found someone else next semester.
