If you feel that the car is starting do drift DO NOT use the brake, it'll make you spin out faster. The best thing to do is let go off the break and gas and just try to streer away from cars, people ect... slowly, really slowly. Thats what I do.
Thats rite man its a scary situation drift or slipping I usually just let go of the gas and really lite brake, I go through the same problem on rainy day over.
we have fwd if your fishtailing dont let off the gas just apply pressure relative to your speed. dont accelerate and dont decel it may cause front tire slip which will really make you lose control, dont downshift to slow down use the brakes. if your front tires slip you have no steering either!! keep that in mind

Dont downshift?? I think downshifting helps a lot, if you know what ur doing...if you have a stick downshift all the way to 1st while applying very little braking...i found this helps a lot on snowy and icy roads.
okay okay...take it from a true north...Canadian here. if you feel there is a need to use e-brake in a situation to cure understeer than use it....usually when you use e-brake your tail will slide out (OverSteer)...than to correct the situation you must let go of e-brake, counter-steer (steer the opposite direction) and gas it to striaghten out the car. remember you gotta have more practice to gain experience to use the e-brake during snow......but if you are going at high speed don't ever yank that e-brake...i tried it on FreeWay one time and i was f*cked.....i guess you gotta crash a couple of times to under stand the total dynamics of any ride you drive
here it is...this is the way. get a beater ford and put it in 4-paw. can't go wrong. but thats if its bad. if its just slush, have some fun with the 2 wheel drive and go to town, but you should practice in a parking lot or something to get acquainted to it. i dont even bother with the car.
