Originally posted by fraga Just tie a string to a big boot you have. Have that dangle over your bed, while looped over a hook connected to the ceiling. Then, at the other end, have it anchored near an alarm clock. You will now need a Hamster and a Hamster wheel. When the alarm goes off, you'll scare the shit outa the Hamster, who will turn his wheel, the wheel will be connected to a switch that triggers a stove, which will burn through the string, which will allow the boot to fall, land on your nuts, AND WAKE YOUR LAZY ASS UP.....GET UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP...

1. Loud clock radio alarm on my book shelf on the left side of my room.
2. Regular alarm clock on my dresser on the right side of my room.
3. My cell phone has 3 different alarms on it on my nightstand beside my bed
All are set to 5 minutes apart. I'm bad for getting up and shutting them off and laying back down after they go off, but at 5 minutes apart I have to keep getting up and get annoyed.

They were actually talking about this subject on the radio on my way to work this morning. Some guy kept sleeping through his alarm so he hooked a siren up to it. It went off and woke up almost everyone in his building, the problem being he couldn't shut it off.

I set my TV/stereo to come on about 5-10 minutes after my alarm clock. So I'll wake up at like 6:15 from the alarm clock, stumble around and slap the button, then crawl back into bed. Then the TV comes on through the surround sound and I'm just like "fine... I'm UP!"
It works.
And yes, I noticed that fooling around doesn't really hurt your sleep schedule.
man you all have sleep issues...i'm almost trained to wake up at 5:30 every morning to get on the yellow transportation mobile at 6, then arrive at my beautiful school at 6:40, then wait around until 7:20 which is when classes start.
I put my clock across my room and turned it up max... I also set my clock 20 minutes faster in my room. I never remember when im just waking up "oh, yea its 20 min fast"... Im always like "DAMN! IM SOO LATE GOTTA MOVE GOTTA MOVE" then i get outta the shower like "wait a minute.... i still have plenty of time"....
I had 670+ lates/absences in highschool (record at that time) [ three year period ]
I also set my phone 2 go off 2 times. how do you set an alarm on your computer?
edit: and yea my alarm is right next to my bed so all i have to do is move my arm to hit the button and it's off lol. I need to move the alarm clock though and use my radio alarm also.
i have been on that same shit too. i have a 11am class and like it's a far walk on the other side of campus. i try leaving about 20 min early with a friend, but he walks too fu cking slow. he'll stop and talk like he's loitering around as if he has no place to go.
even without him, i just take my sweet time getting ready. lol i take too long to get ready! that's my problem! fu ckin college.
i used to have one of the alarms that would screech at you over and over. It lasted about 2 days before it was in pieces and there was a hole in my wall. Now i have a cool 27" digital TV that wakes me up the morning (thanks heather!). The only time it doesnt wake me up is if my head is under my pillow.

I have the same problem, I have 2 alarms in my room, both on the opposite side of the room, and in order to turn them off i have to get out of bed, one goes off one minute later than the other, because most of the time i get up turn the first alarm off and just go to bed without even thinking, then when the 2nd alarm goes off i actually wake up. I cant get out of bed any other way
