I want to kill him. I'm not filled with hate, nor am I a violent person. But I HATE IGNORANCE!!! Stupidity can be cured, Ignorance can never be erased.
(Yeah...I got a bit carried away with my post on the second link....but I guess it's something I feel strongly about. )

Dude, You are 100% justified.... The kid learned nothing from his excursion in to the gardrail. He still thinks it was the car that caused it...
Quote:
just got to work more on suspension. ground contorls on stockies are to bouncy
that accedent as he describs it was most likely 100% driver error... Probably was heavy on the brakes the whole time he was understeering.... What? no one ever told him that if your understeering and your using the brakes... Ease off the brakes... Maybe next time He'll understeer through a turn with no gaurd rail...
Any way, Ever notice how Hostile the actual Road racers /autocrossers can be to some one who street races???

"I know Solo only comes one minute at a time, but what an intense, non-stop, fast-forward car control exercise minute it is. Sure, the velocity is higher in road racing, but inside the car it is slow-motion in comparison. In Solo, the turns come like machine-gun rounds. "

Yeah....the others didn't say I went too far.....but they all race LEGALLY. lol
I/they were hostile......but it's kinda funny in a way. "Immitation is the highest form of flatery." and what is street racing/canyon racing? IMMITATION OF THE REAL THING!!! lol THEY WISHED THEY WERE AS COOL AS US!!!
I'm sorry, but I used to street race....kinda (I just watched, never had the balls to actually race).....and when I saw a kid get SOO pissed at his car for overheating that he literally ran it into the ground until it didn't move.....THAT did it for me. These people are NUTS......they care more about money, speed, and pride than the most important thing.....LIFE. Sure, road racing CAN be dangerous....but I honestly think any SANE person wouldn't do anything dumb enough to actually cause an accident that would KILL them (or others) on a track (we're talking amateurs here, not pro's...they're crazy too, lol). Never happened here in CO, and I don't anticipate it happening. If you get to the point on a track where you can't control the car any more.....BOTH PEDALS IN and DON'T BE A HERO.....just go with the flow, and hold on. Usually, it ends up in a bent rim, broken axle, etc. and NO injury.
Now...why wouldn't someone want to go 60+ mph on a TRACK, in a CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT?
You'd be weird NOT to want to.
But instead they choose to go 40-50 mph (a bit slower) on a canyon, where there is a SHIT LOAD more danger, blind corners, gravel, ANIMALS...and OTHER DRIVERS COMING HEAD ON?
The logic just doesn't add up to me. Granted I SUCK at math, but it just doesn't make sense. If you want a REALLY dangerous sport.....GO SKYDIVING...at least there you'll only kill yourself.

i hit an animal while canyon running..........................on my way to the track
tisk tisk. another reason why the track is always the best place to race.
btw, did someone else on here post about this too? i could swear i read about someone posting about canyon racing and messing up their 7thgen and a black hatch getting wrecked too

thats where i started. then realizing that its much more fun and challenging on a road course or autoX course
i still go up once in a while. i been in situations where there was dirt/ rock/bumps on the turn that i knew how to take control of up in the canyons. i'm pretty sure that if i haven't driven so much on a GO KART, AUTOX, ROAD COURSE, i pretty sure i would not have know what to do
i drive at 5/10th up in the canyons. i do it as a relaxation thing.
i know many many people that AutoX and road race that also canyon runs, but we all do it as a run(cruise) not a race

I agree...kinda.
I do it as a "test-n-tune" type thing. I go about 5-7/10 up and down my "fun road" just to "feel" the car, and adjust from there. AT NO TIME AM I ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS with my speed/driving style....I STAY SAFE. I just push the corners a bit more than the yellow "advisory" speed signs say, lol.
But yeah, I suppose we all start somewhere to get "hooked"....what makes us smart, is whether or not we choose to "take it to the track" or not....and we all have.
