Ok anyone who read my other thread knows that I was having a hell of a time getting these damn things on, but all is solved now. Heres the thread...linky
I got the tires today, went to get them mounted/balenced at discount tire, they wanted to charge me 75 bucks for mounting 2 tires & balancing 4, these guys must be on crack!!. I told the guy fcuk that & went across the street got it done for 40.
Well anyway, got them on & damn these Azenis kick so much ass. With the 12 lb wheels, the car feels sooo much lighter & quicker, launching is so much easier & turning is so easy I tend to drift around in the lane a little if im not careful, its amazing how different the car feels.
Ok now my question. The first thing I noticed was these tires are LOUD, really loud. Its like a constant whistle, not what I expected, but makes sinse given the really wide tread patches. Are they supposed to be this loud, or will it go away after breaking them in?? Also, after having them balenced they still wobble a bit, & with the lighter steering response it gets pretty wobbly at higher speeds. I think I need centering rings, but I cant find anything on these wheels. The only info I can find is in Japanese, so how would I go about getting centering rings for them, do they have to be wheel specific, or can a shop just measure it & order some generic ones?
Man I cant wait for next sunday, when I can really see what these tires are made of
Thanks guys

Measure the centerbore. There's quite a few common sizes. Then call Discount Tire Direct (the website, not the local store) and tell them you need a set of hubcentric rings that fit XXX to a 56.1mm hub. They're $7.99 + $0.01 Shipping (don't ask, I don't know).
Yes, the Falkens are loud. its just the way they are. think of it as the noise of traction
also, Falken put Steel bands in the side walls to stiffin them up, that would account for the improved responce. My street tires feel like Jello in comparison. I miss my race tires.

"I know Solo only comes one minute at a time, but what an intense, non-stop, fast-forward car control exercise minute it is. Sure, the velocity is higher in road racing, but inside the car it is slow-motion in comparison. In Solo, the turns come like machine-gun rounds. "
