what class is a EP3 in staight from the factory? what mods keep it in that class? what minor mods bump it to the next class which may be too competitive and thus not be worth the purchase of the mod?
maybe you could make it a sticky? im gonna do some searchin on an SCCA site, but i thought this might make a decent sticky..
anyway, right now i have:
EP3 with
DC Sports SRI
17" Mille Miglia Evo5 w/ 215/45-17 Kumho 712
possible RSX rear sway
mods im considering:
lightweight 16's w/ BFG g-Force T/A KDW
Eibach Pro-Kit or Sportlines w/ KYB shocks/struts(when released)
Neuspeed Upper Strut
possible catback
will any of those bump me up to a different class?
thanks

You are already in STS. Si stock would be G Stock. If you want to race stock, take you intake off and put your stock rims on.
for stock classe you are allowed tire swap, brakes that are the same size as stock, rims that are the same size, front sway bar, shocks but no springs, some minor cosmetic stuff, etc. (http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rules/stock.html#s131)
EP3 bone stock is GS. You're allowed R compounds on a 15x6" rim, catback, upgraded pads and rotors (OEM Size), and upgraded shocks NOT springs and a different front sway bar.
Those mods bump to STS. It takes some dedication to stay in stock, you can't do much, and it costs not much less since tires are so expensive.
BTW: KDWs are an expensive tire to eat up autocrossing. Kumho MXs and Azenis stick just as well for 1/2 the price.
I say pull the wheels for stock ones, put the stock airbox in and go learn to drive it first. You're not going to like racing on 17s. I did it, then went to 15s... what a difference.
boiler, yeah, after reading robs last post i was considering that.... especially sonce i havent auto-xed yet, the only thing is the stock ep tires suck, i mean worse than my old EX's Firestones
i can deal with it though, i wanna eat those up ASAP anyway, he he
thanks

about the tires, if i go with 16's, i dont think the MX's dont come in the size i need, i can check again though

the MX comes in 205/55R16 and 225/50R16 but your still better off running a 15.
Oh ya, for a good Build up of an EP3 for STS check this out, Grass roots motorsports built one for STS Chronologically the article starts from newes to oldest, so the first things they did to it are at the bottom.
