Two days of racing, 12 runs, and a whole lot of fun! Cant wait for the next one, out at Wendover Utah.
So heres how it went.
We arived on friday afternoon for Pratice launches. I've never dealt with a start tree before so Dave (The owner of the car) Told me how the thing works and when to go. I'm sure those of you that have drag raced before know how the system works , but with pro solo there is a little twist..... you have 20 seconds to stage after the car in front of you has launched, if you are not staged then its an automatic red light. after 6 pratice launches I'm confident I can handle it for the event.
Saturday morning.... after a night in Motel 6, First day for the event. we get eight runs today, Four in the morning and Four in the afternoon. Heres the format. you do all 4 runs back to back 2 on the left and 2 on the right, switching after each run.
It is so much fun, If you get a chance to run one, take it!
For the event I was in 4th at the end of Saturday, 9 tenths out of 3rd and fending off my co-driver by 2 tenths. Sunday..... Droped back to 5th by 3 tenths. I was only 6 tenths out of trophying!!!
Autocross: Because Life is more fun on three wheels......
"I know Solo only comes one minute at a time, but what an intense, non-stop, fast-forward car control exercise minute it is. Sure, the velocity is higher in road racing, but inside the car it is slow-motion in comparison. In Solo, the turns come like machine-gun rounds. "

Basically there are 2 Identical Autocross courses that are Mirrored, you get 3 runs on each course and the best times frome each course are added together to get your total time for the day.
