Engine Oil/Filter

What do you guys use? Synthetic or regular? How often? Opinions?

I only use Castrol GTX for road racing. I change every 2k miles. Before and after a day of road
racing. I don't see the benefit of going Synthetic for the $$ since I have a stock motor.

I use OEM filter, sometime FRAM.

stuffs i been recommended by friends in the business

regular-Castro GTX
Syn- Mobil 1
Filter- OEM

Mobil 1 5W-30, Bosch Filter, Every 4K during race season. Better safe doing it way to early than having problems later.

Do u guys really feel the difference with synthetic? Is it worth the cost?

Won't you have the same benefit of changing oil before and after a race?

I use mobil 1 0w20 w/ a mobil 1 filter. change every 5000. changing more often with crappy oil doesn't realy help anything. not saying GTX is crap but there realy isn't any gain from changing oil after one race.

I change my oil whenever I have enough time to get up to the dealership - every 4 - 6k. I would change my own, but I get the fleet deal on my oil changes, like 15% off. I know I could save a couple bucks changing my own, but I never have the time, I will start soon since it takes less time anyway to do it myself

They use Quakerstate oil, & I like it that way, my whole family has always used Quakerstate & its been good to us, hehe. I dont really think it makes that much difference on sub 20 grand NA cars anyway IMO, as long as you dont get some cheap ass wallmart brand or something.

In the Synthetic Vs convetnional oil, its not really an engine performance thing (Your probably not going to gain any power one way or the other). Its a, which protects the engine better under stress (especially in race conditions) and I'm pretty sure Synthetic doesnt brake down as quickly as conventional oil under high heat.

So, I run Mobile 1
