Thanx... I will definately be asking you "what does this do?" and "what does this mean?" or "What does this stand for?" I stumped the guy at the Honda dealership. I asked him out of nowhere "What does Si stand for?" He just laughed but never answered the question.
it stands for "Sport Injection" it's not just a trim level... congrats on the new car by the way... mine's exactly 20 years older than yours by the way and still running strong... good choice in car!!

Did a little bit of digging, turns out...
si stands for sequential injection
dx stands for deluxe package
lx stands for luxury package
ex stands for executive package
This is what I came up with and seems to be the consensus from where I've looked around. Never knew the acronyms had an actual meaning from honda. You learn something new everyday.
But the sequential injection actually makes sense. If you look at the older hondas in the mid-late 80's, alot of motors were dpfi and then changed to mpfi. I think back then, the mpfi (sequential injection) was only available on si models. At the time, they made more power and were a "higher standard" than the dpfi models, hence it would make sense that honda continued using the si as the top end performance model for the civics.
