Question sedan vs coupe headlights....

i remember reading a thread that the 01-03 coupe and sedan headlights were different. Are the mounting points different?

The only thing different with the lights are the turn signal/parking light sockets. They do not interchange with each other. The coupe version will NOT fit the sedan and vice-versa.

the insides are different. coupes have up/down adjustability, sedan has up/down, left/right adjustability. coupes have a different turn/parking bulb socket than the sedan. the reflectors are different.

is the wiring the same to connect them, like could i use the connector on my coupe and attach to the sockets for sedan?

edit- nevermind, i just realized the wiring harness is the same for coupe/sedan cuz of searching and knowing TYC lights hook up fine for coupe/sedan. now i just have to find out which blacked out replica headlights Robear sent me, the coupe or sedan for my coupe. somehow i think they sent me sedan headlights.

no, they're the same. H4 is H4. sounds like your housings are the problem.

it's not the headlight sockets that are different. yes, H4 is a bulb. H4 socket is where the H4 bulb goes. so H4 socket on a sedan or coupe wouldn't matter as far as bulb fitment. the turn/parking lights mount in plastic socket and those snap into the headlamp. the mounting of the sockets is different. the bulb socket/mount is stationary on the headlamp. not removable like the turn/parking. does that make sense?

Re: sedan vs coupe headlights....

ok ill jsut tell you my problem....

i got some headlights over a year ago.. the civic they are going in, was smashed and needed new lights.

i checked and they said they were for a 2002 honda civic lx coupe... however the origninal sockets (peice that clips into headlight housing and clips into electrical wires, not bulb) does not clip securely into the headlight housing...

they are jsut a tad too small or wrong design... (not too sure)

i called the place i purchased them from and they reassured me they are right, however they arnt as they dont clip in securely...

after doing some research ive came across this thread stating the sockets (peice that clips into headlight housing and clips into electrical and holds the bulb) are different for the coupe and sedan...

now beign that mine is a coupe im thinking they jsut messed up and gave me sedan healdights and i jsut need to change the sockets so they clip securely into the headlight housing...

????

edit: these are the healdights i have recieved:

Re: sedan vs coupe headlights....

so you're talking about your turn/park lights, not the headlights?

Re: sedan vs coupe headlights....

those are aftermarket lights, ofcourse they will have problems lol. if the park/turn sockets are loose, add another rubber o-ring you can get from auto store. if its the headlight bulb wire clip, you gonna have to play with it by bending, but dont go nuts it will break. you can get some thick wire from the hardware store and make a new one tho so it holds the bulb in tighter.

Re: sedan vs coupe headlights....

LOL sometimes its a different socket.. you can tell because the parking light and signal light sockets on a sedan have 4 tabs whereas a coupe will have 2, both sockets plug into the wire harness

Re: sedan vs coupe headlights....

yes i am talking only about the turn/parking lights...

the socket holding the bulb is not the problem, its the socket clipping into the housign of the turn/park lights.

the housing has 4 tabs to hold the light and socket in place, wheras the coupe sockets only have 2... and buy loose i mean the sockets circumfirence is too small... not by much.

was this one of the differences between a coupe and sedan? turn/park light socket size? (even by a little)
