I am looking to purchase the item from the link below from ebay, and i was wondering if anyone has the same kit, or one similar to it, and what they think of it. thanks
Ha no way. The led kits have a line of those tiny led lights in the tube. When I had my neons they were so bright you could see them reflecting from the ground off the mirrors. I saw a pontiac with red led kit driving last night. At first I thought it was reflection from the tails, but I looked again and there was a faint glow under the sideskirts. It was really dim to the point that most people wouldn't even notice. He had it on moving mode so you could kinda tell.
Dang... the only reason i wanted to go with LED's is because a good majority of people on this site say they are brighter. I wish i could find some decent pics to compare them. Varad is a very reputable brand for LED's, hopefully the one gearbox saw was a cheaper brand.
I bought a cheap led underbody kit off ebay and I have it in my room, the controller is semi busted, but i could always wire it to on/off if i put it in the car, its white, and its bright enuf to light up the entire room.. (leds are facing up too, even pointed against the wall its plenty bright)
if the sides look easy enuf to put on im kinda debating about actually putting it on my car..
I was actually thinking of getting a blue led kit, but it would be plasmaglow not varad. Even with a good kit tho, regular neons will be brighter than leds. Same reason turn signal leds aren't good. The ones I got had 15 leds in it and still wasn't as bright as a bulb. If you look at the led kits, all you see are tiny leds in a single line. And that little light has to reflect off the ground to actually be able to see it.
