Big problem......(headlights)

Ok guys I need help ASAP. I recently returned my car back to stock because I'm trading it in in a week. I have a big problem. My lowbeam headlights don't work. I have checked the bulbs and they are fine. I have even tried replacing them with new ones. Nothing. My highbeams work fine on the other hand. I can't drive my car at night and that is when I do a majority of my driving. I know some of you are going to say, "who cares, you're trading it in anyways." I know this but I also have to drive the car until I trade it in. I was thinking maybe the wire harness. But if it was the harnesses, wouldn't the highbeams not work as well? Oh ya. I have also checked the fuses and they are fine. When I had my HID's in I had to swap out the regular 15amp fuses for 20amp fuses. The 20amp fuses are still in. Do you think maybe this is the reason? Help me out guys. Thanks.

just try your fuse idea.. If that doesnt work, then u need a new harness? Doesnt make sense for high beam to work but, low beam no working... Did u check the connection?

go to the dealer and let them check to see if there is power running to the low beam wire.

My fuses are fine. They are actually 20amp instead of 15. I had to use the 20's when I had my HID kit in.

open your fuse box and try swapping the headlight relays around, the relays may be bad

Same thing happened to me. The switch is burned out. You will have to buy a new switch and replace it. If you take your steering wheels column apart and look at the back on your switch, you will see that it burned out. You can take it to your dealer, but take out your aftermarket bulbs first. I'm curious oh how it happened to your guys. For me it happened when I wrecked my car. After the body shop put my fenders on, they pinched a wire. Thats what caused mine to burn out.

Thanks Voiceofid and Jodster. This didn't start happening to me until I had my front bumper replaced by a body shop after my boy ran over a high curb with it. I wonder if they fcked it up. That was a while ago though so I don't think I can have them do anything about it. Do you guys think that the dealer will give me sh*t for having cleared headlights?

^^^Don't know. Just make sure that you have stock bulbs in and take it to them. They to get them to fix it for free. Don't tell them that the car was in the body shop awhile ago, cause they will just saw that it was the body shops fault. Then you will have to deal with them.

this happen to my civic and my boys toyota corrola. we both had piaa lights and i wanted to switch mines to silverstars and the stock bulb wouldnt work. we tried the bulbs im my friends car and then his bulbs got f up. so with the new ones all i did was clean up a little of the guew that goes on the bulbs with the socket that they go in. put them up and still didnt work. untill and fling my finger on the bulb when it was on and it work. we did the same with my friends car and it work. try to clean the sockets a litte bit with a tooth pick and the then fling your finger on the bulb. if it dosent work .. you need a new harness.

swap the 15 amp fuses back in, the 15s have a better cutoff point, yes you could have ruined the harness by having too much power flowing through it... the 20 amp fuse can allow more power thus creating problems! switch it, unplug the harness and make sure all metal connectors are clean, maybe some corrosion, plug it all back in and try it.
