Question MTEC H4s...2X or 4X ???

I currently have MTEC 2X which uses stock wattage (60/55W). There are also MTEC H4s that are 4X and use 100/90W. I am satisfied with the 2X, but something brighter can never hurt.

my questions...

1. For those that have tried both, is there significant difference??

2. Did you have to upgrade the wiring harness? If so, was it difficult (is there a DIY)?

3. How long have you had the 4X without them burning out?

THANKS!

my mtec h1 4X in my projectors made a world of a difference...no harness problems.

H4's are a different story. harness upgrade is recommended.

if your going to purchase an upgraded harness, then id go for the 4x (but it could ruin the housing also)

id say to stick with the 2x

Do MTECs with projectors like TYC actually help? Would that combo be as bright as the stock lights?

i ran MTEC 2X in my TYCs and they were brighter than stock (aimmed them properly)...they were H1 55w (4350K look) and never gave me any problems

i sold the TYCs to another member on the board and i believe he is still running them with no problems...he PMed me saying that they were aimmed nice and he was impressed with the output

How much difference is there between the 2x and the 4x in terms of light output and look? I know ppl who ran 4x w/ stock housing and wiring harness and no melting or damage. but i'm afraid.

4X in H4 Housing/OEM Headlights will **** up the wiring harness, and perhaps the reflector shield in the housing itslef... Stick to 2x's

if u want more light, get fogs if u dont have them, or Real HIDs =]
