pulling the LED ring off my projector?

I could follow the DIY on clearing your lights to get the housing apart on my projectors. But how would I get that ring off. Is it glued or something? Or would I pretty much have to break it off and glue the new ones on. I am most likely going to do that DIY with the rubber air hose type tubing and some White LEDs. I would do two sets so I can put a set around the high beam as well. Should look hot and very custom, plus my resealing job would be twice as good as the stock one. if there is no other way... then pull it off.. If its screwed on somehow then unscrew it... You can always glew it back on..

But be careful on what glue you chose... Some may have fumes that will damage your projector housing.

Are u going to be making your own halos?

Im thinking of making my own but I found some from HIDtech.com for like $60 already made. I emailed them about dimensions cause I want to put two sets in and have a set for my high beams.. that way when the projector is on at night you can still se a ring glowing.

That does look pricey here is what I found from HID tech

But I got a reply stating that they only sell the rings, not the LEDs, and that I would have to put on a 1/2W LED, 220ohm resistor and basically wire it up myself which isnt hard. I just asked him back if the rings have notches for the LEDs to fit into or if they just sit outside somewhere.

They also have this though.

I thought that was pretty interesting, its $89, looks like two eyes go into one connection. I emailed him for more infor on them as well.

He said the rings are 5" in diameter so I am going to measure mine tonight when I get home to see the fit. They claim they are Hella BMW OEM angel eyes, so I am wondering if they are plastic or glass like BMWs.

thats a lot of $... Make sure they fit! Haha... Well... I can vouche for them... HIDTech is a great website to go to for HID related products.

I like the "Euro Spec Fiber Optic Light Guiding Cable Set" only thing is... I think both the halos are attached... So, u would have to cut it.. Unless they will both reach into the projector, and high beam area?

would u know how to connect them? Looks weird o_O

yeah it does look a little odd. I might be better off wiring up a LED to the rings themselves they have and putting heatwrap on them for protection with a bit of silicone.
