But here is my inquiry. I have RSVersion halo projectors and want to put an HID kit in the car. Since they take H1 bulbs, cant I just put a H1 kit into the car and be done. Naxos sells an H1 HID conversion kit that I as interested in.
What would be the issue with them, would they not fit? or anything? If they are H1 conversion then they should plug right in so whats the deal.
So in the long run Im better off holding onto my stock headlamps and when the cash is available, clear them out and throw a conversion kit in the OEM lights. My big plan was to save up and put the Acura TL HIDs in my car.

i guess that would be the way, if you want to blind everyone comming your way
i am not sure what temps are the tl headlights, but most projector style hid are actually really yellow, the color is actually done by the projectors themselves, i am not sure is it the case with the acuras
Acura runs a lower temp HID around 6,000k. The higher the temp the more blue or white the color is. The purplish effect is done around 5500-6000 ish. But the headlight is the same style as the civic in that it has the internal reflector piece that blocks the light from coming immediately forward and refracts it against the inside. So in theory it would be identical. I would have to get the D2R bulb since that is for reflector type HIDs.
I had H1 HID's in my TYC projectors. They were absolutely FINE. They DID NOT blind people and they DID NOT look like shit. And they were extremely bright. About 2 times brighter then stock. Do what you want to do. Don't listen to people that say they will look like shit and not function properly. I am stating FACTS from my personal exerience with HID's in projectors. The light out put might not be as bright as retrofiting Audi lenses into your projecors, but it is pretty damn close! I have compared side by side with one of my friends that has a 2003 Audi A4 with HID's. Hope this helps with your decision.

the part about blinding on comming traffic, that was in regards to the deflector housing h4 kit he was proposing
i am giving opinions from my personal experience, going through a 4500k kit and a 5500k kit, and i already had a image to prove it
as i have states before, the projectors in the tyc are foglamp projectors, they are not designed to light up the road like hids, not even like your regular headlights, how you expect it to function like one?
Detail on the immage? What cars are those? What type of headlights? What type of lighting? The car on the right does not light up the road at all. The reason being is, the lights are not properly aligned. The beam patterns are right on top of each other and they are pointing way to much towards the ground. This picture does nothing for a comparrison. If the lights on the car on the right were aligned properly, it would be a totally different picture. More light would be projected.

Acura does NOT use 6000k bulbs... ALL OEM HID is 4100K - 4300K. And yes D2R bulbs are for Reflector style housings, but not for the civic's housing. It was not made for HID, unlike the Acura TL. It will not look the same if you put the TL HID's in your civic. If you look closely at the TL.. it has more shielding on the "nosecone".. a totally different design
Thanks for the info Hefe, didnt know the temps and such OEM.
As for those cars, I read that other post its his Civic on the right, and a Celica on the left. I do agree if you look at the beam pattern it is way low. The U-shaped effect of the lights is on top of each other and not aimed properly like the celica. Here Ill point it out.
I bet if you aimed your lights higher to match his and straightened them you would see better results since your kit is a different color.

but even if you look, my lights don't even go as far as his
those lights have been reaimed since that picture, and i will take new pics...
and i will also take pics after my retrofitting
i am only giving a little advice on the fact that our projector suck, and it's not a true hid projector, if i was happy with my beam pattern or light output, i would not have to buy the new projectors
if you look at the beam pattern, it also shouldn't it should be a wide evenly spread beam
even whelan's picture give a perfect example
look at where his start and where my end? just like a fog light! YES WE ARE EVEN!
but it doesn't matter to me, you guys with the h1 kit and believe it's brighter than a car with true hid projectors, more power to you. and those of you want to spend the money on h1 kits like i have, go ahead. but my projectors are here and the retrofitting should be.. soon
